Viktor vs. AstraWake AI: Set it up yourself or have it built for your business?
By Wesley Cable · October 21, 2026
Viktor and AstraWake AI both use the words AI employee. Under the hood they are very different products, and the right pick depends on how your business already works.
We checked every Viktor fact below on viktor.com on October 21, 2026. Prices and features change, so check their site before you decide.
The short answer
Viktor fits a team that already lives in Slack or Microsoft Teams and wants one shared helper connected to many cloud tools. AstraWake fits an owner who wants a few specific jobs built around their business, running on their own computer, with nothing going out until they approve it.
AstraWake builds AI employees for businesses of every kind, such as home services, insurance agencies and law firms.
Where it works: Slack and Teams vs. your own computer
Viktor works inside Slack and Microsoft Teams. You mention it in a thread and it does the task.
Its site says it has its own computer in the cloud where it writes and runs code. Everyone on a plan shares the same Viktor and the same context.
Viktor lists 9,800+ tool integrations, so it can reach across many cloud services.
For example, a team member could ask Viktor in a Slack thread to pull a recurring report from a connected tool. Viktor would write and run the code on its cloud computer and post the result back in the thread.
An AstraWake AI employee is installed on your own computer. It is trained on your business and the jobs you hand it, like replies to new inquiries, quote follow-ups, invoice reminders or review replies.
For law firms that can include case-file email drafts and medical record chronologies.
Whose account and whose machine
Viktor runs on Viktor’s cloud. Its site says data is encrypted in transit and at rest and that it does not train outside AI models on your data.
Its homepage says SOC 2 compliant. Its FAQ says SOC 2 Type 1 is in place and Type 2 is in progress.
An AstraWake AI employee runs through your own Claude or ChatGPT business account. You pick the model, and we help if you want a recommendation.
Your files stay on your computer. The model provider still processes what the AI employee reads, through your account, not ours.
How approvals work

Viktor runs recurring tasks on its own. Its site says it asks for confirmation before high-stakes actions like sending emails.
Admins can set approval rules per tool.
For example, an AstraWake AI employee could draft a follow-up on a quote that went quiet. You read the draft and approve it before it goes out.
An AstraWake AI employee only drafts. Nothing goes out until you approve it.
What you pay
Viktor is monthly and credit based. There is a free start with up to $100 in credits.
The Team plan starts at $50 a month for 20,000 credits. Its most popular option is $100 a month for 40,000 credits.
Larger plans scale up from there. You can see current details on Viktor’s pricing page.
AstraWake is a one-time build: $4,999, or $2,999 at the founding rate while spots last. That covers one AI employee set up with the starter jobs your business needs, remote install and 45 days of adjustments. New jobs after that come through the optional $499 a month.
Ongoing support is $499 a month and optional. The AI employee keeps working without it.
Setup: minutes vs. built with you
Viktor says setup takes minutes: add it from the Slack App Directory or Teams, connect your tools, and start asking. It handles its own onboarding.
AstraWake is built with you. Wesley Cable installs it remotely while you watch on a screen share, then tunes it to your business.
Every build includes one AI employee and the starter jobs your business needs, delivered one at a time, plus 45 days of adjustments.
Neither approach is wrong. It depends whether you want a tool you add yourself or one built with you.
